The national championship game between Texas Tech and Virginia was briefly interrupted Monday night when the referee had to suspend play to remove a tortilla that had been thrown to the floor.

It wasn’t just a spur of the moment idea of a Red Raiders fan, either, but actually a Texas Tech tradition.
Yes, it’s a tradition in Texas Tech football games to give out flatbreads on the field.
Where did he come from? Good question.
According to the Viva the Matadors website, the tradition originated when fans threw plastic tops on soda on the field. Once removed, the tortillas seemed like an easy transition, as they were “cheap and pretty easy to hide on your person.”
