Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden made history in November 2022 with her White House wedding to her Peter Neal, when she became the first bride to marry on the South Lawn. Naomi and Peter didn’t just get married in the White House: the two have lived with the president and his first daughter, Jill Biden, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue since August 2021.
In July 2024, when Joe announced that he would be resigning from the 2024 election, Naomi reacted to the news on X (formerly Twitter). She is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle, and is named after her past aunt, Biden’s daughter from his first marriage, who tragically died in a car accident. He grew up in Washington, DC.

Lately she lives in the White House with her grandparents and her husband, Peter.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in foreign affairs, and then earned his J. D. from Columbia Law School. According to her LinkedIn, she most recently works as an associate attorney at the law firm Arnold & Porter.
“Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House. We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead,” she shared ahead of the wedding.

She has appeared at some state dinners, adding in October (above) at a state dinner for the Australian Prime Minister, dressed in a Cristina Ottaviano dress, and in June, also in Ottavino, at a welcome dinner for the Indian Prime Minister:
She and Peter attended the April 2024 state dinner hosted by the Japanese Prime Minister. For the occasion, she wore a Bernadette dress.
In February 2023, he joined his grandmother, Dr. Jill Biden, on a trip to Kenya.
On Instagram stories, she posted a selife with her baby bump, writing “(we) voted” with an American flag emoji and an upside-down smiling emoji. The baby will be President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s first great-grandchild.
“I’m about to have a great-grandfather, my God,” President Biden said in an interview on January 5.
She welcomed a 10-pound, ounce baby on Wednesday, Jan. 8, she revealed. Biden is now the first great-grandfather to hold the office of president.
