White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended thorny President Joe Biden on Friday in reaction to questions about the military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan that he ordered.
Reporters have insisted on Biden about the timetable for the withdrawal of all U. S. troops through Sept. 11, and have asked the president as “negative. “
“I want to communicate about satisfied things, man,” he said. It’s the holiday weekend. I will celebrate. Wonderful things are happening. “

Psaki, speaking to reporters later at Friday’s news conference, said the president’s responses were “related to Afghanistan. “
“What it seeks to convey is that it is heading to the weekend of July 4, a weekend for the family, a weekend to celebrate America,” he continued. “He’s in a position to end up answering questions.
Later in the briefing, responding to a follow-up question about whether the president was tired of Afghanistan, Psaki stated that “people are exaggerating their answer a bit in a question-and-answer query ahead of a holiday weekend.
“He had already answered 3 questions about Afghanistan, and only said the fourth question. And then he went ahead and answered some additional questions,” the press officer added. “The president may simply not be more proud of the men and women who have served for more than 20 years, and will take every opportunity to thank them for their service, to thank the families of the deceased infantrymen who bravely served in Afghanistan. “
