Project: Nishioka Building
Venue: 260 State St.
Description: preparations are Underway for the construction of a six-story building in downtown Salem, consisting of 148 apartments and street-level retail space.
The project is being carried out on the former McMahan’s Furniture site, at the corner of State St. Petersburg and Commercial St. Petersburg.
Koz development has broken ground on the building, which is scheduled to be completed in late 2020 or early 2021.
The building connects two other downtown apartment complexes, the Court Yard apartments and the South Block apartments.
The Nishioka building will consist of 136 one-bedroom apartments, two one-bedroom apartments and 10 two-bedroom apartments, according to Koz Developmenttold the Statesman Journal. The complex could be ready by early 2020.
