OMAHA, Nebraska (KETV) – Testing continues as COVID-19 cases rise on the subway. As we heard on Saturday, other people were left in the dark when they showed up at nomi’s control sites and there was no one. to assist them.

Amy Miller said her husband began exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, so last week she made an appointment at Nomi Health’s Oak View location.

But when her husband arrived today.

“He texted me, there was no one here. I was like, what do you mean?” said Miller.

The tents were closed, the parking lot empty, only Miller’s husband was waiting for his appointment at noon.

After a few minutes, Miller called Nomi’s main number and told her that they were open and that her husband just had to wait.

“I said, you don’t understand. There, there is no tower to wait for because he is the only user in the parking lot,” Miller said.

The couple discovered more than an hour later that Nomi’s control sites were closed on Saturday.

“We never won an email, we never won a text message, we probably didn’t win anything,” Miller said.

KETV NewsWatch 7 contacted Nomi Health.

The company said it had no one to speak to on camera.

Instead, we sent this message: “People who had tests scheduled on Saturday at Nomi Health’s 3 COVID-19 test sites did not realize that the sites had been closed due to weather conditions. “

Nomi said: “The resolution to close the sites was made early Saturday morning, when it was unclear that patients and staff would be able to safely access the control sites. “

Miller said he understands that cancellations happen, but that’s the beginning.

“How complicated it would have been to send a text message or mass email,” Miller said.

And now, those who date, like Miller, have to struggle to locate the position to get tested.

“Now he will not be able to return to work until this test is complete,” Miller said. “In order for you to go back to work, you need a negative COVID test. “

In that statement, Nomi Health said, “They perceive the important importance of COVID testing and continue to work tirelessly. “

Its sites in Omaha are expected to reopen Monday.
