San Diego-based 619 Spirits announced it won the 2019 USA TODAY 10Best Readers ‘ Choice travel award competition for best craft vodka distillery.

The contest ended on September 28 after four weeks of voting, according to a press release. The original 20 nominees were chosen by a panel that included editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com and other industry experts, as part of the release.

619 Spirits, with a 4,200-square-foot distillery and tasting room located in North Park, was founded by San Diego local Nick Apostolopoulos in 2012. 619 spirits handmade vodka infusions are made with local San Diego ingredients, including Scorpion pepper, rose petals, coffee and pickles and cucumbers, among other popular and exotic combinations.
