Ukraine -Russia War dergest: The Russians said to “ panic ” on the fuel cloud – whilst Moscow welcomes Trump’s comments on Ukraine and NATO

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has been carrying out his daily briefing with reporters.

Sky News correspondents listened, and are the key lines:

In contacts with the Trump administration:

“I can say the following here: there are contacts among individuals. They have recently intensified. I can’t give any other detail”

In Volodomyr Zelenskyy, the willingness to meet Putin:

“Readiness must be based on something. Readiness and desire. It cannot be based on a legislative ban on such negotiations for Zelensky. For now, it is impossible to perceive this as anything other than empty words.”

In Zelenskyy call to give nuclear weapons to Ukraine:

“In general, such statements border on madness. There is a regime of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and so on and so forth. I’d like to think that in a situation where the palification of the current generation of politicians in Europe leaves much to be desired, that, nevertheless, some sober understanding of the absurdity and potential danger of discussing such a topic does exist in Europe.”

In Zelenskyy, that Putin is his non -public enemy and if Putin considers Zelenskyy an enemy:

“There would be and there would be no room for feelings here. There is a position for legal research. And absolute pragmatism. We will have to be completely aware of what is happening. Our research suggests that Mr. Zelenskyy has primary oath problems, in terms of its legitimacy in your country.

On Trump’s proposal to resettle Gaza residents and create a resort there:

“Our position on the Middle East deal is well known. The agreement can only take a position in two states. This is the thesis that is faithful to the UN and supported by the maximum of the countries interested in this problem. Think that it is the only option of rejection of such an idea. “

British Foreign Minister David Lammy visits Ukraine today, when he announces monetary of 55 million pounds more sterling to help him put him in the “most powerful position. “

In his second visit since he became foreign minister last year, Lammy will meet Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other government figures to discuss how Britain and international partners can continue to support Ukraine.

“Our support for Ukraine remains unbreakable,” he said.

“We are determined to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position, both in its fight against Russia and beyond.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Great Britain would supply 3 million pounds for Ukrainian grain deliveries and other foods to Syria, with which Ukraine needs to repair after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, a nearby ally of Russia.

Ukraine, a manufacturer and exporter of grains and oilseeds, sent a first batch of food aid to Syria in December.

As a component of the new monetary package, £17 million will go to cutting-edge energy projects, £10 million to help with the recovery of Ukrainian businesses and £25 million to the circle of relatives and network services, the Foreign Ministry said.

Great Britain 977 million pounds sterling in favor of Ukraine and the region since Russia introduced its large -scale invasion of the country in February 2022.

He is also committed to offering 3 billion annual army pounds during the time that is necessary.

As we have noted here, Donald Trump’s position on the war in Ukraine is significantly submerged in that of his predecessor in the White House, and with the prospects of top Western leaders.

While other Americans have said that Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is completely unjustified and that the product of Russian president’s preference to expand his region, Trump has taken another tone.

He declared in January that he sympathized with the Russian position that Ukraine was not component of NATO and blamed the outgoing Democratic President Joe Biden for having replaced the US position in the NATO club for NATO for Ukraine.

These words have now been welcome through the Kremlin.

Speaking at an assembly in Moscow, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said: “Suddenly, for the first time, President Trump, in one of his first speeches, criticizing the position of the Biden administration in the Ukraine crisis, He directly said that one of the main errors drawing Ukraine in NATO.

“For the first time, a Western leader, not just a Western one, but the leader of the US, the leader, therefore, of the entire Western world, said these words, which we, in general, welcomed, because for the first time the NATO problem was designated as something that the US is ready to discuss seriously.”

While much of the foreign concentrate fell into his comments on Gaza’s long streak, Donald Trump also talked about the war in Ukraine a press convention with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night.

The US president said: “We have many conversations [with the Russian matrix and Ukrainian management] . . . Very constructive conversations about Ukraine. “

He said that Russian movements had made Ukrainian cities “as bad as Gaza and worse. “

He said he sought to finish the conflict, saying that he received weekly reports on the number of infantry soldiers killed in Ukraine, and that “the numbers are amazing. “

“When you hear the genuine numbers in Ukraine, what are the numbers, and that doesn’t come with the cities that have been demolished and all the other people that have been killed,” he said.

“So I want to stop,” said the US president.

He said that on the Ukrainian side, there were “700,000 soldiers killed” and on the Russian side, “800,000 more. “

The governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region has urged people not to panic after its main city, close to a huge gas chemical complex that was attacked by Ukrainian drones this week, was enveloped in a cloud of natural gas.

Governor Igor Babushkin insisted that the fuel that other people can feel the result of the paintings to restart production at the plant near the southern city of Astrakhan, which has a population of about 475,000.

“Dear citizens, this morning, the city covered a cloud of Gas Herbal, which has an express smell that seems after treatment,” he wrote in Telegram.

“The specialists use recovery paintings and began to release production this morning. Now the start and adjustment procedure is underway, adding the release of the burning of flashes. “

He did not specify that production was restarted.

Babushkin said the fuel rockets had been extinguished when the factory closed after the attack, and restart them required a liberation of fuel that later “inflated, as in a family fuel stove. “

He predicted the Weather Service would move away from the city.

“Natural fuel is harmful to physical aptitude in open spaces: in the near future, the condition of atmospheric air will normalize,” he said.

“I need to warn the citizens of Astrakhan, in the next few days before the factory returns to its planned operation mode, such conditions are possible.

A drone attack by Ukraine sparked a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar region, it was reported overnight.

Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of the region in southern Russia, said: “The fire has been contained, there are no casualties.”

He said 55 people and 19 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire, at the plant in Novominskaya.

Recent attacks have seen Kyiv increasingly targeting Russia’s oil and power facilities.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military said today that Russia launched 104 drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine overnight.

Of that number, the Ukrainian air force shot down 57 and 42 drones did not reach their targets, likely due to electronic warfare, the military said.

Welcome back to our live coverage of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Both Moscow and Kyiv launched drone attacks overnight, with a fire reported at an oil depot in Russia.

It comes after Donald Trump said “we are having very good talks” on Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine is prepared to engage in negotiations to end its nearly three-year-old war with Russia – but stressed that the United States and Europe also had to take part in any talks.

We’ll bring you more detail on those stories, along with the latest updates on the conflict as they happen.

This is the beginning of a new week and 1,075 days since Russia introduced its giant invasion to the Ukraine scale.

As the war approaches its three -year anniversary, we step back to look at the biggest image.

‘Very serious’ discussions begin – as peace conditions set by US

At the end of last week, Donald Trump said his management had “very serious” discussions with Russia about his war in Ukraine and that he and Vladimir Putin can take “significant” measures to finish the Classharray

Then it was learned that Trump’s special envoy in the region said he sought to see Ukraine organize a general election before the end of the year.

“Most democratic nations have elections in their time of war. I think they do,” Keith Kellogg said.

Elections suspended in Ukraine after the Russian invasion.

Trump officials are also debating whether to push for an initial ceasefire before seeking to negotiate a more permanent deal, according to experts.

There is hope that the winner of a potential election may be guilty for negotiating a long-term deal, Resources told the AP.

Some analysts have suggested that having elections while the war continues could be highly destabilising internally – and could play into the hands of Putin – who has called on Ukraine to elect a new leader for some time.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that he would be open to such elections, it is understood that the United States had not told Kiev that it deserves to call elections this year at this stage.

Zelenskyy pushes

Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave the impression of backtracking on advice that peace talks would be largely overseen through the United States and Russia.

Speaking to AP, the Ukrainian president said excluding his country from talks was “very dangerous”.

“They may have their own relations, but talking about Ukraine without us –  it is dangerous for everyone,” Zelenskyy said.

He also said that Trump pushes Putin to the negotiating table through enacting serious sanctions opposed to Russia’s power and banking formula, and proceeding to fund the Ukrainian military.

“I think those are the closest and maximum steps,” he said.

Russia closing in on flashpoint areas

Russia claimed to have captured the village of Novovasylivka as it closes in on the key logistics town of Pokrovsk.

The city of Pokrovsk, which has been an aerial bombardment and is slowly complex on several sides through Moscow’s troops, is home to a giant means of logistics used through Ukrainian forces, which serves the eastern Donbas region.

Russian forces have for months sought to capture the town, but their advance appears to have picked up speed in recent weeks.

Analysts and Army Mavens say the city is a key detail in Ukraine’s defense and wasting it may cause the total collapse of the front line.

In addition, Moscow states that their forces have captured more territory around the flash point of the city of Toretsk in the East Region of Donetsk (highlighted on the map above).

TORETSK is a long -standing Ukrainian fortress and it shows through some analysts as a gateway to the KostiantyNivka logistics center, which is located in the northwest, in terms of Chasiv Yar.

On Saturday, Russia’s ministry of defence said forces had taken Krymske – a village flanking the city.

North Koreans pull out amid massive casualties, reports say

Ukranian and American told the media that North Korea had removed their fronts amid heavy victims.

North Korean forces served along their Russian allies in the Kursk region of Russia, recently held through Ukraine.

According to Ukraine, there have been reports about the North Koreans.

Reports recommend that North Korea troops have been noticed for approximately 3 weeks.

Our Editor of Security and Defense Deborah Haynes saw Ukranian that North Korea’s troops were killed before risking capturearray.

She also spoke with Freed convicted who were released from prisons to fill the exhausted front line from UkraineArray. .

We will be back soon with more updates in Ukraine.

Before leaving, here is a review of what has happened in 24 hours beyond 24 hours:

In news similar to our previous article’s update, oil exports through a primary Russian port appear to have ground to a halt, backing up Kyiv’s claims of a successful attack on a pumping station.

Bloomberg quoted a user with deliveries wisdom as saying that oil at UST Luga fell to 0 on Wednesday.

The point of sale added that the knowledge he had noticed showed an oil tanker who left early that day, but that there is a hole in the shipping signals after that.

He said that there is no explanation why it was provided for the obvious decrease, and that there would be regulations in which ships are not guilty anyway.

If it was demonstrated that the movements of Ukrainian drones had broken the formula of the pipe that supplies ut -Luga, causing a long rest in the expeditions, this can cause a significant risk for the world oil market.

On Wednesday, a claim follows through Ukraine that his drones had arrived at the Andreapol Pumping Station of Russia in the Baltic Pipeline System-2, which feeds UST Luga, in activities.

The Russian pipeline operator has still commented on the reports.
