Ukraine launches largest air attacks on Russia since start of war

Ukraine’s military has claimed its largest air attacks yet on Russian territory since the start of the war nearly three years ago as Donald Trump prepares to take the presidency in the United States.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said Tuesday that it would retaliate for attacks of unmanned by missile and large -scale airplanes during the night, and accused Ukraine to use missiles through the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Russian army said that the maximum projectiles had been sacrificed, attacks several cities and commercial sites.

The Russian cities of Saratov and Engels were reportedly hit, with some damage caused to factories in the area. Some schools were forced to switch to remote learning while several airports were forced to temporarily halt air traffic.

Ukrainian forces had attacked the same region last week as well, claiming to have struck an oil depot serving an airbase for Russian bomber planes. The attack caused a large fire that had only been put out a day before the latest strikes.

The Ukraine Army said Tuesday that it reached problems in Bryansk, Tula and Tatarstán, with a chemical factory that produces fuel and ammunition for Russia among the objectives.

Ukraine has begun US production Atacms and British Storm Shadow projectiles to attack Russia goals in November before.

Russia, which said it sought talks but would not back its requests in Ukraine, warned that this resolution could significantly build up tensions. Moscow has also introduced a new hypersonic ballistic missile in an intermediate diversity known as oreshnik in Ukraine that she says is fit to be used again.

A day before the latter move to Russia, NATO chief Mark Rutte said that Ukraine not recently not strong enough to “negotiate from a position of force”, that the incoming US president said he was looking to see .

Trump said that he would solve the war before taking office while he was campaigning for re-election. He has stopped saying that after his election, and his Ukraine envoy has discussed a 100-day timeframe, former US diplomat William Courtney said.

“I think any express prediction is a little bit dictate because no one can fully know how those things are going to turn out, however, President-elect Trump is now more supportive of Ukraine than it was before the election,” the senior deputy fellow at Ukraine’s Rand Corporation told Al Jazeera.

Courtney said that with his new attacks against Russia, Ukraine would possibly see to show Trump that there is a safe fight, which can fight Russia and have a serious effect of the army. “

Meanwhile, Russia continues to press deeply in East Ukraine, while kyiv persists with her army offensive, the Russian territory of Kursk, where this week she captured the first men of North Korean infantry who fight alive for Moscow.
