Tulsi Gabbard criticizes CNN, New York Times during debate for “despicable “”smears” over Syria, Russia

She added: “Just two days ago, The New York Times put out an article about me being a Russian activist and apologist for Assad, and all these different smears. This morning, a CNN commentator said on national television that I am an asset to Russia-utterly despicable.”

Gabbard appears to be referring to comments by CNN analyst Bakari Sellers describing the Congressman as “a puppet for the Russian government.”

The Hawaiian Congressman also seemed to blame the media for the deaths of Kurds after trump’s departure from the region.

“Donald trump has Kurdish blood on his hand, but so do many of the politicians in our country from both sides who supported this ongoing war of regime change in Syria that began in 2011, along with many in the media who were Champions and cheerleaders of this war of regime change,” she said.

It wasn’t the first time Gabbard had taken bold shots at fellow Democrats. While on stage with Kamala Harris this July, Gabbard tore into the California Senator’s record as a Prosecutor.

“Senator Harris says she is proud of her reputation as a Prosecutor, and that she will be the President’s Prosecutor, but I am deeply concerned about this record,” Gabbard said.
