Trump National Doral resort is no longer considered for holding of the meeting, “Seven”, President’s tweets – CBS News

President trump has taken his Doral, Florida resort out of consideration to host next year’s G-7 summit of world leaders, the President said Saturday on Twitter. “We will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the seat of the “seven” in 2020, ” Mr. trump wrote on Twitter. “We will begin searching for another site, including the possibility of camp David, immediately.”

The trump administration faced immediate backlash when acting White house chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Thursday that Doral had been selected.

“It’s not the only place. This is the best place, ” Mulvaney said at a news conference. The white house briefing was Mulvaney’s first since taking over as acting chief of staff earlier this year.

The US is responsible for hosting the G-7 summit next year, and Mr trump said at the last g-7 summit in France that he would like to host it at his own private club in Florida.

The President insisted he didn’t care about profiting from it, even as he touted trump National Doral Miami features. He confirmed these features Saturday, as well as attacks on the media.

….. own building from 50 to 70 units. Will be created better than other alternatives. I have announced that I would be willing to make it at NO PROFIT or, if legally permissible, at zero COST in the US. But, as usual, hostile media

Mr. trump only listed camp David as an alternative location for the 2020 G-7. It’s unclear if there are other objects under consideration.
