Creative 360 is going to try something new – a drive up concert with Ike Beehr and The Blues Guise — from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Ike and his socially distanced band will perform their soulful blues from Creative 360’s “porch” at 1517 Bayliss St. in Midland while you enjoy the music from your car. There is no entrance fee, but donations will be appreciated. This is a first-come/first-served event. Register on the Creative 360 website at becreative360.org/events to reserve your spot. Staff will be on hand to direct traffic until the parking lot is full. People will be permitted into the building during the event only for restrooms, which will be disinfected after each use. Those entering the building are required to wear a mask if at all possible.
Seconds to Midnight will perform outdoors beginning at 8 p.m. at 18 Taps, 3340 M-18 in Beaverton. People are asked to bring lawn chairs. Entry is $5, which will be donated to Wixom Lake flood relief.

Reel Talk: Mr. Holland’s Opus (PG), a Matrix:Midland Virtual Cinema Discussion, is set for 7:30 p.m. The event is free but registration is required. Participants can watch the movie on one of these platforms: YouTube, Amazon Prime, or Google Play, and then tune in July 1 on Zoom to discuss the film. Hosted by the Reverend Dr. Wallace Mayton III and Abby Mayton Smith. The event is free but registration is required. The registration deadline is 7 p.m. on the day of the discussion. 17th annual Reece Endeavor Garden Walk scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m. There will be no raffle or silent auction at the Garden Walk this year to cooperate with health and safety guidelines. There will be five private gardens for people to tour:The Yurgaites Garden, The Dorais Garden, The Rezmer Garden, The Magurno Garden and The O’Neil Garden. Downtown Midland Sidewalk Sales is set for downtown Midland. With Main Street closed to vehicle traffic at Ashman, McDonald, and Rodd streets, visitors can stroll through the street and enjoy expanded shopping and dining space in accordance with current social distancing guidelines. Shop a variety of participating retailers, then sit outside at a local restaurant for a hot snack and a cold drink. Participating retailers include: Ace Hardware & Sports, Coyer Candle Co., Elodie Boutique, Gift of Hope Boutique, Grape Beginnings Winery, Heather ‘n Holly, Imagine That, Joyful Tantrum, Little Forks Outfitters, Michigan Brew Supply, Proper Taco, Serendipity Road, Ways To Wellness, Willow Classic Ladies Apparel. In accordance with ongoing COVID-19 regulations, the Midland Downtown Development Authority encourages visitors to practice social distancing and proper hygiene guidelines, wear a facial covering, have patience with downtown businesses.

The annual Riverdays festival will take place in a different format this year, but event organizers are confident it will continue to honor the spirit of Midland. The Midland Area Community Foundation announced it will go virtual in order to safeguard the health of volunteers and participants. Details will be made available closer to the event. Salt River Acres in Oil City is hosting a music festival to benefit local flood relief efforts. Bands are scheduled to play all day. Salt River Acres is located at 926 Greendale Road in Oil City. Gates open at 10 a.m. There will be a $10 entrance fee, but children 12 and younger will be admitted free. In addition to live entertainment, there will be raffles and auctions with concessions sold at the campgrounds.
