There Was a Crimson Cup of Coffee

Campus cafes at eight Ohio colleges and universities have received a back to school training boost from the award winning Columbus coffee roaster Crimson Cup Coffee

Each year, campus dining managers nationwide prepare to serve more than 76 million incoming students as well as faculty and staff. To-do lists range from planning menus and ordering supplies to teaching often inexperienced students.

This year, campus cafes at eight Ohio colleges and universities received a boost from the award-winning Crimson Cup Coffee roaster

“The goal of our training is to ensure that the highest quality products are served in all of our partner cafes, and that the Barista student feel expert in cafe performance,” said brand Ambassador and educator Amber Raffeld. “Training highlights include espresso, milk steaming, recipes, tips, workflow, customer service, proper cleaning procedures and consistency.

“Regular training is the difference between just being good and being great!””she added. “It is an important tool that a Barista student must succeed. Training informs the Barista about new ways of doing business, helps to hone already acquired skills and strengthens the knowledge of the staff.”

This addition to training, the crimson Cup on campus coffee team held tasting events to create excitement among students and faculty. They attended a Taste of the future event with Columbus state community College and are assisting with the coffee program at Mitchell Hall, a new culinary facility in Columbus.
