Brian Kelly, the founder of Travel Rewards The Point Guy, says there has never been a longer time than now to gain points.

Extra nights in Cushty hotel suites, high-quality loose air travel, and even leftovers on personal islands. Frequent problems and miles, when collected strategically, can fund trips beyond the same old expectations and budget of a traveler.

But it’s not simple to get those deals. Luckily for us, there’s a total universe of Mavens who share their ability to pre-order Praisearray and at the forefront is Brian Kelly, who founded the online site The Points Guy in 2010.

For Mr. Kelly, 41, it started with the childhood challenge of booking travel for his family. At 12, he planned an entire vacation to Grand Cayman for his family of six, booking all of the flights with miles earned by his father. This successful trip laid the groundwork for his career as travel expert, he said. Deals still dictate his travel.

In his new book, “How to win on trips,” MR. Kelly stores tips, above all, from problems and miles to dealing with flight interruptions and the anxiety for flight.

He shared some of those tips with the times, discussing how to buy methods with credit cards (he’s 29!), based on young people in business elegance and evolving the global of travel values.

This has been edited and condensed for clarity.

I love to solve the puzzle. Yes, it is a bit difficult, but it is also the point. If it were so simple for everyone in the world, it would not exist. For those who need to do some work, I think there is still a superior prize.
