The 2020 USA gymnastics Championships will be held in St. Louis in June

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – a week before the 2020 U.S. Olympic trials team arrives in St. Louis, the city will host the 2020 U.S. ex USA gymnastics Championships.

Simone Biles competes in floor exercise during the senior women’s competition at the U.S. gymnastics Championships, Friday, August 9, 2019, in Kansas city, Mo.

The newly announced five-day national Championships will be held June 17-21 at the American center Convention complex and Dome. The event will be attended by more than 1,600 of the country’s best gymnasts in acrobatic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and acrobatics.

“Hosting the USA gymnastics Championships in St. Louis is a great prelude to the trials,” said Stephanie corepin, chief program officer for USA gymnastics. “The U.S. has qualified for two individual berths for the Olympic games in rhythmic gymnastics, and we hope our gymnasts will also qualify for the U.S. Olympic games in both trampoline and group rhythmic gymnastics. The championship is the final selection event for rhythmic gymnastics and possibly a trampoline, which means all 2020 American gymnastics Olympians will be nominated in St. Louis.”

The national Championships will also be a qualifying event for Olympic rhythmic gymnastics 2020. The USA gymnastics Championships will also be used to select American Olympians on the trampoline if the USA qualifies for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on the trampoline.

The full schedule of the competition has not been published. Tickets will go on sale in 2020.
