Stop – Shop introduces a new advanced loyalty program

US supermarket chain Stop and Shop, owned by Ahold Delhaize, has introduced a new e-commerce platform and loyalty program made over called Stop – Shop GO Rewards.

The company said innovations aim to offer consumers a seamless purchase where groceries delight and more savings opportunities, regardless of how they shop, in-store or online. This resolution follows the recent announcement through Stop-Shop that the logo is expanding its omnichannel capacity with the addition of 3 new warehouses and 50 additional collection copies this year.

The new Stopandshop.com and Stop-Shop app will update the Peapod platform, and the account data of buyers who have once used Peapod will be transferred automatically. From the new site, consumers can create grocery shopping lists, shop from brochures and virtual promotions, and order food to pick up and deliver.

“Stop Shop prides itself on making things less difficult for our shoppers, and this new virtual fun does just that,” said Gordon Reid, president of Stop Shop. “It focuses on a built-in online page and a cellular app that will offer our consumers many tactics to buy the extensive collection and savings they rely on with Stop and Shop.”

Ahold Delhaize’s brands have recently created their own e-commerce brands and introduced platforms separate from the retailer’s Peapod name. In June, Giant Food also incorporated Peapod’s operations into a new site, Giantfood.com, with the corresponding application.

The Stop-Shop update will gradually remove the final component of Peapod, the 30-year-old e-brand customer brand, while Ahold Delhaize points to a more streamlined, store-centric omnichannel strategy.

In addition to the new online page and app, Stop-Shop has introduced its GO Rewards program, which it says will give consumers more opportunities to earn rewards and save cash. Integrated into the online page and app, the Digital Loyalty Program allows shoppers to earn a GO point for every dollar spent in the store or online. While only fuel rewards were available in the past, consumers can now turn problems into multiple rewards, adding cash on their grocery orders.

“GO Rewards will be a personalized virtual offering and exciting new tactics for our consumers to save and use their points,” said Rachel Stephens, vice president of virtual loyalty at Stop and Shop. “Stop and Shop savings are temporarily increasing and we expect this revamped program to make our consumers see the superb price we offer in-store and online.”
