The Prince of Wales arrived at the scene of a fatal accident in Aberdeenshire to meet with the emergency services.
Three other people were killed on Wednesday when Cars at the ScotRail Aberdeen service on Glasgow Queen Street derailed near Stonehaven amid heavy rains and landslides.
Charles, known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, video on Friday to thank those who were among the first on the scene.
Driver Brett McCullough, 45, driver Donald Dinnie, 58, and passenger Christopher Stuchbury, 62, all died in the incident.
It is understood that all those who died were local.
Six other people were injured in the accident: four have left Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, while two remain in good condition.
British transport secretary Grant Shapps has already praised lifeguards and called the scene “horrible.”
On an earlier scale at the site, he stated that he had spoken to Pc Liam Mercer, who was the first officer to witness the incident.
The transport secretary praised the police officer for his bravery in the management of the rail accident, which has been observed in the UK since 2007.
The Railway Accident Investigation Branch has launched an investigation into the incident and investigators are on site.
A separate investigation will be carried out through the Scottish Police, the UK Transport Police and the railway regulator, the Office of Railways and Roads.
Network Rail will inspect land slopes across the country as part of a government-ordered overhaul, as a landslide, heavy rain and flooding are believed to have played a role in the incident near Stonehaven.
