A conspiracy theorist who wrote a book claiming the 2012 sandy hook school shooting never happened should pay $ 450,000 to the father of a boy killed in the shooting.
The jury’s decision followed a ruling in July that James Fetzer and Mike Palask, who are co-authors of a book titled “No one died at sandy hook,” slandered Leonard Posner, whose six-year-old son Noah was among the 26 victims of the December 2012 shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Fetzer, a retired Professor at the University of Minnesota Duluth, was ordered to pay damages. He called the amount “absurd” and said he would appeal. Palaski settled with Posner last month, but these conditions were unclear.

In the book of Fetzer and Palast claimed that Posner has fabricated copies of the death certificate of his son. Fetzer also claimed the massacre was an ” MOE drill.”
After the ruling, Posner thanked the jury for acknowledging the pain and horror that Mr. Fetzer intentionally caused me and other victims of these horrific mass casualty events, such as the sandy hook shooting,” the Wisconsin state journal said.
Posner has previously said his family has been threatened and harassed as a result of conspiracy theories leveled against him, including on a memorial site dedicated to his son.
He took action against Infowars conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones last year, filing a defamation lawsuit against Jones. Jones, who was banned from Facebook and YouTube in 2018, insinuated that the sandy hook shooting was fabricated.
The case is still pending.
