Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia can play a key role in the middle East, as it has good relations with Iran and the Arab world.

He spoke to Arab broadcasters ahead of his first visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE today and tomorrow.

Putin said no one in Saudi Arabia or the UAE wants a confrontation with Iran.

He also referred to the “Declaration of strategic partnership” signed in June 2018, saying: “the Signing of this document was not an accident, it demonstrated the quality and nature of relations between the UAE and Russia.”
