Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the lack of improvement in Russian-American relations is not the fault of President trump, reports Reuters.
“We know that, including during his previous election campaign, he advocated normalization, but unfortunately this has not yet happened,” Putin said in an interview with Arab broadcasters Al Arabiya, Sky News Arabia and RT Arabic, which was broadcast on Sunday ahead of his planned Monday visit to Saudi Arabia. “But we have no complaints because we see what is happening in US domestic policy.”
The Russian President said that the” internal political agenda ” of the US prevented Trump from taking more important steps to normalize relations between Moscow and Washington, and said that Russia will cooperate with any us administration to the extent that the US itself is ready, according to Reuters.
In the same interview, Putin said that Russia’s own weapons capabilities are capable of neutralizing any threat posed by NATO’s missile deployments of Romania and Poland.
“It is obvious that this poses a threat to us, because it is an attempt to level our strategic nuclear potential. It is doomed to failure, this attempt, it is already obvious, ” Putin said, according to Reuters.
