QuikTrip, a leading intermediate and convenience store operator across the country, enters the Tennessee market with a planned location in Chattanooga.
QuikTrip proposes to build a location in Lookout Valley off Interstate-24 and Browns Ferry Road, for the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company.
“We’re developing all the time right now,” said Aisha Jefferson-Smith, Director of Corporate Communications at QuikTrip. “High-traffic spaces are the ones we like to grow in. “
The company is a permit from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for the six-acre plot near Browns Ferry and Pattons Chapel Roads.
If the 24-hour center gets the go-ahead, the structure can begin in May 2021 and probably opens in 2022, Jefferson-Smith said.
The convenience store would have a domain of approximately 8,200 square feet, according to a plan. The facility would have approximately 60 car spaces and 10 reserved for trucks, depending on the plan.

He stated that the company sometimes did not reveal how much it costs to build a center, but that it would employ between 20 and 25 employees.
“They will paint all the other shifts,” Jefferson-Smith said of the full-service center.
QuikTrip operates 41 centers and 810 convenience stores.
While Chattanooga will be the first in Tennessee, there are plans to install more in the Nashville area, the company’s spokeswoman said.
“Its economy is strong and its proximity to the other markets in which we operate,” he said. “This has made [Tennessee] a transparent selection to expand intermediate activities right now. “
The TDEC licensing procedure indicated that QuikTrip proposed modifications to Lookout Creek in Chattanooga.
Kim Schofinski of TDEC stated that the application is complete and that a public notice is posted on the agency’s website.
“Currently, we have not won any public comments or requests for public hearing, however, this does not restrict long-term comments or requests filed during the completion period,” he said.
Jefferson-Smith said the company is still waiting to get permission.
“As soon as we have it, I’d like to start,” he said.
QuikTrip operates mainly in the Midwest and South, as in Arizona.
Founded in 1958, QuikTrip generated profits of $11. 4 billion in the fiscal year ending April 30, 2019, according to Forbes.
