Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday that Moscow would not want trump and Putin’s conversations to be made public amid outrage over the White house’s publication of a story about a phone conversation between trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The motives for their handling of the issue were unclear, but if nothing else, the controversial comments by Peskov and Putin keep Russia talking about trump’s behavior. They may even force Democrats who are conducting an impeachment investigation to delve into trump’s conversations with world leaders.
“I’ll tell you a secret – Yes, we will do it, just to make you happy there,” Putin said, drawing applause from a crowd consisting of top Russian officials and the heads of a number of Russian and foreign energy companies. “Just don’t tell anyone,” he added.
