Putin and Xi Praise Ties, Hours After Trump Sworn In

Russian President Vladimir Putin, and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, praised his deep cooperation in a video call on Tuesday, hours after Donald Trump assumed the position of president of the United States.

The Republican has vowed to take a hard line on Washington’s opponents, threatening strong price lists in Beijing and warning Moscow of “big trouble” if it’s not the Ukraine conflict.

Putin, addressing Xi as his “dear friend,” said Russia and China were building ties “on the basis of friendship, mutual trust and support,” despite external pressure.

“The joint paintings of Russia and China play a stabilizing role in foreign affairs,” Putin said in the call.

Xi said he hoped for paintings with Putin to take ties with Moscow to “new heights” this year, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

“Both sides should continue to deepen strategic coordination, resolutely support each other, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,” CCTV reported Xi as saying.

The two countries also “expand bilateral ties, which increases practical cooperation at deeper levels,” he added.

Moscow and Beijing have strengthened the ties of the army and advertising since Russia sent troops to Ukraine, alarming the United States, which is as evil actors in the global scene.

China has tried to paint itself as an impartial part amid the conflict of about three years.

But there remains a political and economic spouse close to Moscow and has never condemned Russia’s moves, leading confident NATO members to brand Beijing a “catalyst” for conflict.

The two parties did much of the supposedly non -public link of Xi and Putin, calling the Russian leader his “best friend” and Putin praising his “reliable partner. “
