President Joe Biden Gives Jimmy Carter Funeral Compliment

“Jimmy Carter’s friendship taught me,” Biden explained, “strength of character is more than the name or the name we have. “

President Joe Biden gave Eulogy at the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter today, reflecting on his character and character.

“Through all this, he showed us how character and religion begin with ourselves and others,” Biden said. “For our most productive, we percent the most productive parts of ourselves: joy, solidarity, love, commitment. Not because of the reward, but with respect, to the incredible gift of life, they all granted us. To make every minute of our time here on earth.

This morning, Jimmy’s grandson, Jason Carter, and Walter Mondale’s son, also delivered the compliment and Walter Mondale’s son. Gerald Ford’s son did the same. In 2022, Biden asked Carter to deliver his funeral compliment.

None of Jimmy’s young people spoke today’s funeral, but everyone was present.

Clergy members, prominent, the guests, above all, the Carter family.

In April 2021, Jill and I visited Jimmy and Rosalynn through a day of Hotes in Plains, Georgia. We seek to see them. Rosalynn received us at the main door with her exclusive smile. Together in a space they had shared only about 77 years of wedding, a space of Red Rancho without pretensions reflects its modesty, more than any power champion.

We walked in the living room where Jimmy greeted us like family. That day, just the four of us sat in the living room and shared memories that spanned almost six decades.

A deep friendship that began in 1974. I was a 31-year-old senator. And I was the first senator to walk out of the gates of Georgia, and maybe the first senator, to endorse his candidacy for president. With a support based on who I am. Jimmy Carter’s enduring attribute: character. Character. Character.

Due to this character, I think it is destiny. It allocates, in our lives and, frankly, the fate, the life of the nation.

It’s an accumulation of a million things built on character that leads to a good life in a decent country. Life of purpose, life of meaning. Now, how do we find that good life? What does it look like? What does it take to build character? Did the ends justify the means?

Jimmy Carter’s friendship taught me, and throughout his life taught me, a strength of character is more than the name or the strength we have. It is the strength to perceive that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, that everyone, and I mean everyone, reserves a shot, not a guarantee, which is a blow.

We have the legal responsibility for not giving hate to the port of protection. And get up, my father told everyone’s greatest sin: the abuse of power.

That’s not about being perfect. Because none of us are perfect. We’re all fallible, but it’s about asking ourselves, are we striving to do things, the right things? What value? What are the values that animate our spirit?

Function with worry or hope. Ego or generosity. Are we appearing grace? Do we stay with religion when it is tested more?To keep religion with humanity and that of America is a story in my opinion, from my point of view, the life of Jimmy Carter.

Story of a man, to state the obvious you’ve heard today from great, great eulogies who came from a house without running water or electricity and rose to the pinnacle of power. The story of a man who was at once driven and devoted to making real the words of his savior and he ideals of this nation. The story of a man who never let the ties and politics divert him from his mission to serve and shape the world. The man had character.

Jimmy held a deep Christian religion in God, from which his candidacy spoke and wrote.

Faith in the commandments of Scripture: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul. And love your neighbor as yourself. Easy to say: very difficult to make. In one’s life, in this life, any walk of religion can be difficult. You may be alone. But this requires that the action be the practitioners of the world.

But that commandment is the essence of my point of view, discovered in the Gospel, discovered in many traditions of religion and discovered the very concept of America. Because the same adventure of our country is a natural religion walk. To do the job, be the country, we say that we are, let’s be the country, let’s say we are.

A country where all are created equivalent to God’s symbol and deserve to be treated our lives. You have never completely experienced this concept of America. Nor do we get away from that, because the patriots like Jimmy Carter.

Throughout his life, he showed us what it means to be a practitioner of intelligent works, an intelligent servant of God and the people. Today, many believe it was from a past era. But in reality, he has noticed the future. A White South Baptist who directed civil rights. A veteran decorated from the Navy that negotiated peace. A brilliant nuclear engineer who directed nuclear non -proliferation. A working farmer. Who defended conservation and white energy. The president, who redefined the appointments with the vice president. Jimmy and I have talked about our expensive friend Walter Mondale, we all miss a lot. It is true that the two were men of character.

And as everyone knows, Jimmy Carter also established a style for post-presidency by making a difficult difference as a personal citizen in the United States, and I add, as everyone knows, worldwide.

Despite all this, he showed us how character and faith: start with ourselves and others. For our most productive, we percent the most productive portions of ourselves: joy, solidarity, love, commitment. Not because of the reward, but with respect, to the incredible gift of life, they all granted us. To make our time every minute here on earth, tell. It is the definition of an intelligent life. The life that Jimmy Carter lived, the greatest one hundred years.

To young people, to anyone, in search of meaning and purpose, study the power of Jimmy Carter’s example. I miss him, but I take solace in knowing that he and his beloved Rosalynn are reunited again.

To the total of the Carter family, thanks. I mean that they sincerely pigs, either with the United States and the world. We all love you.

Jill and I appreciated our visits with them, adding the latter in their home. We have noticed Jimmy as he has been, in peace, life lived fully. An intelligent life with a purpose and a meaning, a character. Led through destiny. And full of the strength of faith, hope and love. Say it again: faith, hope, and love.

When he returned to the plains, Georgia, for his last resting place. You can say goodbye. In the words of the prophet Micah, who admired so much until his last breath, Jimmy Carter rightly enjoyed mercy, walked humbly. God bless a wonderful American, a dear friend, and a man. Upper, raised the wings of the eagles and buried in the breath of dawn. Go back to the sun. And hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God bless you, Jimmy Carter.
