Police are seeking to locate a “key witness” after a man allegedly threatened at a Spar store in Sunderland and stole coins from the coin register.

Northumbria Police obtained a report of a burglary at Spar on Ewesley Road shortly after 7pm. m. of Saturday, January 22.

He reported that a criminal entered the store and threatened staff before stealing coins from the coin registry.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but the task force was affected by the incident.

Since then, the force has launched an investigation into the theft and officials are conducting a series of investigations with the aim of locating the responsible user.

As part of those investigations, officials expect to speak with a woman who entered the store when the offender, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, passed her and fled.

He reported that the attacker is believed to be five feet 8 inches tall, narrow-figured and mixed-race. It is believed that he was wearing a dark jacket.
