Penn State hiring Jim Knowles as new defensive coordinator

Pittsburgh (KDKA) – Penn State obtains a new defensive coordinator of one of its rivals and will be the most productive paid in its football after the university.

CBS Sports reports that Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is leaving the Buckeyes to join James Franklin’s staff at Penn State.

Knowles is expected to be paid an average of $3. 1 million over 3 years, according to ESPN.   During Knowles’ time at Ohio State, the Buckeyes ranked in the top 3 most sensible in overall defense for two of the years.  

For Penn State, obtaining a first level coordinator of one of its rivals can keep its escalation towards greatness.

Last season, Penn State granted the first year of the university American football playoffs at 12 years old, where they beat SMU and Boisé State before falling before Notre Dame in a Heartbreaker at the Bowl party.  

Penn State sends it to a year back with beginners Drew Allar, Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, everyone returns.  

Attacking coordinator Andy Kotelnicki in the Virginie-Western coaching position before opting to remain at Happy Valley.

Penn State will open its season opposite Nevada and move to Columbus with a step back for Knowles opposite the Buckeyes on Nov. 1.
