Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson responded to questions Wednesday about an Oct. 15 incident that drew a police response to Fletcher Cox’s South New Jersey home.
Records identified the intruder as Corbyn Nyemah, and said he damaged the woman’s vehicle parked at the home before throwing rocks through the front door in an attempt to break in. Nyemah also allegedly walked around the property with a baseball bat and tried to get in through the garage multiple times, but he fled when Cox appeared with a shotgun, 6ABC said.
Harrison Township Police Lt. Ron Cundey said the department could not elaborate because of the nature of the incident. “State law prohibits the police department from releasing information on certain types of crimes,” said Cundey, the department’s public information officer.
Pederson, asked whether the incident raises issues about players’ safety, took a wait-and-see approach.
“As far as the security issue, we look into it and obviously the police get involved. From that standpoint, I can’t do anything other than hear the results of the investigation and what comes out of that. Obviously, we do our best to protect our players here on the premises.”
“That’s something we’ll look into, obviously, after we get the report back from the police.”
