There has long been debate about whether or not the New Japan Pro Wrestling should have a division of women, and what impact the branching out into the women’s wrestling scene (known in Japan as joshi puroresu, or simply joshi) will have on Japanese companies dedicated to it.
While there Are no signs New Japan plans to add joshi to their maps if they decide to, they now have a very simple way to do it. Yahoo Japan reported earlier that njpw parent company Bushiroad has acquired stardom, Joshi said. A press conference is believed to be coming soon, but Stardom confirmed the news on social media.

If you’re not closely following the Japanese or international women’s scene, Stardom is where most of the names you’re familiar with have come from, including WWE’s Kairi San and NXT’s Io Shirai.
Yahoo Japan says Bushiroad’s interest in branching out into women’s wrestling began about a year ago, and talks with Stardom began in February 2019. Their article also points to the wwe height of their separation of women, including Becky Lynch, Ronda rousey
