But this is just one of many workplaces experiencing outbreaks of at least five cases. In total, the authority discovered 80 workplaces in the state with active outbreaks and dozens more with resolved outbreaks. Eight deaths have been linked to office outbreaks, but the government has not specified in which offices the privacy of patients.

Although still “active,” officials said none of the outbreaks still posed a threat to the public.

“Workers in a company with an epidemic in the office will never be discriminated against or excluded from other companies,” the report says. “In fact, discriminating against staff or avoiding products can jeopardize the economic viability of essential local businesses.”

Oregon has noticed more than 22,000 cases of coronavirus and 383 deaths to date, according to state data. The number of new instances increased considerably from a low in mid-May to a maximum of 457 new instances on a single day in early July. The state recorded 8 new deaths and 294 new instances on Wednesday.

Health officials are working with workplaces to isolate poor health personnel and verify and quarantine those who may have been exposed to them, according to the outbreak report.
