Sports bettors in North Carolina have bet more than $5 billion in 2024 and scammers to get their coin.

“They know that other people are their feelings to make decisions right now and they can take on those feelings,” said Patrick McNeil, senior security architect.

McNeil said that other people deserve to use approved and family sites.

Check ncgaming.gov for approved operators. Legit sites like DraftKings and BetMGM display their licenses. DraftKings even shows its North Carolina license on its homepage. But be cautious, AI makes it easier for scammers to create convincing fakes.

If an alleged spots betting site contacts you, be suspicious and delete it, by just clicking you can get malware on your phone or on your computer.

Often, it is difficult to know if it has been scammed immediately, so observe the transactions of the card and the bank accounts of their credits, which can make it go through suspicious models or purchases.
