GOP will have to capture its possibility of enacting electoral integrity

Republicans have a real opportunity to pass election integrity legislation and get it signed into law while President Donald Trump is in office. Over the last two years, we made great strides toward improving election security, but there is more work to be done.

Beyond the two years, the Chamber Administration Committee has carried out physically powerful supervision of the elections of our country by focusing on key problems facing the electoral administration. Effective monitoring supplies other transparency.

The committee’s paintings ranged from passing the law to our legislation to save you the non-citizen vote to executing the House’s physically powerful physically powerful election observer program, making sure the 2024 election was secure. In Congress, our paintings will continue to save foreign interference, improve the integrity of U. S. elections, and improve the integrity of U. S. elections. U. S. And the states of assistance to achieve greater electoral administration.

Among our priorities this Congress, the committee will continue its focus on preventing noncitizen voting. Over the last four years, the Biden administration allowed millions of migrants to enter our country illegally. States across the country have found noncitizens on their voter rolls. In Washington, D.C., it is legal for noncitizens to vote and run for office in municipal elections. In 2024, 388 noncitizens voted in municipal elections in Washington, D.C.

It is that US elections deserve to be only for US citizens. The existing law while giving states access to the equipment that they want blank in their voters rolls. This is just a common sense measure that will be an objective in the next congress.

In addition to preventing the vote of non -citizens, the Committee will continue to avoid foreign investment in the US. People have long demanded the transparency of Congress in our Crusade Financial System. In response, the Committee increased its research powers to examine foreign investment in the US, as well as the monetary controls used lately through online donation platforms.

According to my letter to ActBlue to locate why the platform didn’t require a card verification value, commonly known as a CVV, the platform added this monetary control. Depending on my bill to prevent gift cards from being used to give a contribution online, the platform has its updated policies to “automatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid gift cards, domestic gift cards, or cards from superior/sanctioned countries. “Although it is a positive forward step, we will have to continue our paintings to ensure that U. S. elections are loose from foreign influence by ensuring that the law definitively reflects this positive currency control.

The committee also exposed a loophole in U.S. law that allows foreign actors to influence U.S. elections. It is currently legal for foreign nationals to indirectly funnel money through 501(c) organizations. These organizations can then channel that money to Super PACs or another 501(c) to directly help a candidate or influence a policy. This loophole must be closed. The committee has passed legislation to close this loophole and will continue working to prevent foreign funding in U.S. elections.

One of the committee’s greatest significant accomplishments included the management of the physically most physically powerful Congressional election observer program in the history of the U. S. House of Representatives. Electoral contests.

To the display electoral observers designated by Congress, adding the day after the elections to the first district of the Iowa Congress for its narrative, the painted committee to ensure that the vote was counted as it should be throughout the country. This long -term program will continue to serve as a key tool in our paintings to offer safe and safe choices.

The coming months have a critical opportunity to announce measures to integrate strong and not unusual elections. By running with the president and Senate controlled through the Republican, we have an exclusive opportunity to advance critical reforms of federal election law.

I will continue to paint to ask for evidence of American citizenship in the US elections and to provide the states with the teams that wish to withdraw the non -citizens of their electoral lists. Our paintings to eliminate the gaps and apply the existing legislation to save foreign investment our elections will continue. I cannot wait for the paintings with the departments of US Treasury and Justice to ensure that the bad actors are responsible. My purpose is to develop confidence and public participation in our elections. I can’t wait to continue with these critical paintings.

Bryan Steil is president of the Board of Directors Committee. It represents the first district of the Wisconsin Congress in the United States Representatives Chamber.
