The site was run by Great British Menu chef James Durrant from 2012-15, during which time it won two AA Rosettes and a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
In 2013 he was named British pub of the year by the Good Food Guide, and in 2014 took 29th place in the list of top 50 gastropub.
Durrant closed The Plough in 2015 and it was briefly run by landlord Allen Watts before closing in 2016. A planning application to turn the site in to a residential property was refused in 2018 following significant local objection.
The pub currently on the market freehold at a price of 550000 pounds.
The three-storey site features a 60-cover open plan area, function rooms, garden, parking for 26 cars and owner’s accommodation with six bedrooms.
“The Plough Inn represents a great opportunity for an experienced publican to reopen what once was a thriving pub in the affluent village of Longparish,” says Richard Wood, associate director at Christie & Co.
“I believe that with the addition of letting rooms and a strong food trade, the pub will no doubt have the support of the local community”.
