BOSTON – The Red Sox home will be where thousands more will be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Gov. Charlie Baker announced Tuesday that Fenway Park would be the mass vaccination site of the time in the state, joining Gillette Stadium, which began vaccinating other people this week.
Fenway will open on February 1 and begin immunize 500 other people with the day before expanding to another 1,000 people with the day. It will be open until the baseball season scheduled for early April begins.
Gillette works to vaccinate another 1000 people a day with one eye on another 5000 people a day.
Several mass vaccination sites are planned in unknown locations.
