Fake: Truck capsizes on street as Typhoon Hagibis hits Japan

The caption on the post reads :” I went to Aeon, dainichi branch, looked outside and then the truck fell. It was really amazing.”

Below is a screenshot comparing the video in the misleading posts (L) and the video posted on Twitter (R):

The same video was posted on YouTube on September 4, 2018.

The title in Japanese on YouTube translates to English as: “the moment the Typhoon flipped the sipok, it flipped over. Osaka city, September 5, 2018.”

The September 2018 Twitter video was also published in this article by local news site Go-Guy NET on September 4, 2018.

The title in Japanese is translated into English as: “Moriguchi / Kadoma” follow-up report on the damage of the Typhoon! You can watch the video of the decisive moment of a big truck overturning in Dainichi Aeon! It seems that there was a fire nearby.”

The video was shot from a pedestrian bridge at Aeon Mall Dainichi in Osaka, as seen here on Google Street View.

Typhoon Jebi struck Japan on September 4, 2018, according to an AFP report.

It tore through a major manufacturing area around Osaka – Japan’s second city-destroying infrastructure and destroying homes.
