President Joe Biden criticized Friday on social media after praising Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam when he called for his resignation two years ago amid controversy.
“In 2019, Biden asked Northam to resign because of his racist photos of the yearbook,” RNC President Ronna McDaniel tweeted in reaction to Friday’s assembly between the two Democratic politicians. “Today, Biden is campaigning with him. “
“Governor Northam has lost all ethical authority and resignation immediately” – JoeBiden, 2/2/2019,” tweeted Townhall editor Spencer Brown, citing Biden’s own words of 2019.
“When a photo of Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam appeared in the black face or kkk outfit, Joe Biden asked him to “resign immediately,” said an official Republican National Committee Twitter account. “He called Northam a racist. But today, Biden is an occasion with him.
“Well, since @JoeBiden was advised through a KKK member and praised a KKK member, no one will be surprised that he campaigned with the racist governor,” tweeted Tony Shaffer, a retired Defense Department agent.
Biden gave the impression with Northam on a climbing corridor in Alexandria, Virginia, to celebrate the rest of the state’s restrictions on coronaviruses.
“Governor, I’m serious,” Biden told Northam about his control of the coronavirus. “I’m not a politician. You did a great job, Doctor. He’s done a great job, and that counts. “
Two years ago, prominent politicians and media experts on both sides of the aisle asked Northam to resign his position as governor after a photo of him appeared dressed in a black face in an old yearbook. Northam first apologized for the photo, but then recoiled and said he wasn’t in the picture but was dressed in black some other time.
