On Friday, five of our neighbors will be telling their true stories in the evening’s theme of “Storms of Our Lives.” In honor of the anniversary of Hurricane Michael, Esther Stoltzfus tells what it was like to ride out the storm in her Blountstown home, and firefighter Shannon Gibbs McArdle shares her story of being a first responder that night. The stories are remarkable. Gritty, funny, personal, absorbing, entertaining – sometimes sad, but never depressing. This fundraiser for Lee’s Place happens at 7 p.m Friday at the American Legion Hall on Lake Ella. Tickets are $12, $8 for students (debit/credit cards only, please). Get tickets at tickets.tallahassee.com.
