Autumn, a laugh doesn’t necessarily mean an east. Farm stalls, wineries, breweries and more offer the tastes and curiosities of the season while staying in downtown Long Island. Here are some places west of Riverhead to see this fall.

GREAT SOUTH BAY BREWERY

Toast in early fall with a pumpkin infusion at Great South Bay Brewery. Splashing Pumpkin, a roasted pumpkin beer combined with cinnamon and cloves, is available all year round. The domain also offers hard seltzers with pumpkin spices, coffee and apple cider.

BLUE POINT BREWERY

This fall, grab a bite to go in the tasting room or on the outdoor patio, and don’t hesitate to bring your puppy. Seasonal beers come with Oktoberfest, a classic German-style beer, and Mother Pumpkin Ale, infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and Jamaican chili flavors. Blue Point also organizes an online “Zumfest” (pronounced “Zoom-fest”), a virtual Oktoberfest (zumfest. online). Digital occasions include categories of German cuisine and an autumn course on cocktails and beer cocktails.

BRIGHT EYE CO BEER.

This pet-friendly Long Beach brewery plans to offer a new beer every week in the fall, and hop features are expected to come with a “Ruffian Red” (which has notes of coffee and is red) and one yet to name a brown beer. It is within walking distance of the LIRR, if you take the train.

PLATTDUETSCHE PARK

Drink a pint while relaxing at your own outdoor table at Plattduetsche, where outdoor coffee has been divided into 82 remote “boxes” to keep social distance in mind. The spaced technique is how this German food place will organize its annual outdoor Oktoberfest: it offers a $65 fixed-price meal that includes everything you can eat beer, wine and soft drinks, a German app-d-do fountain that adds a homemade spread cheese, a pretzel roll, a sausage and a quarter of a roasted bird’s leg , among other snacks. Come to this Nassau County location and make wine by crushing the grapes yourself, making autumn wine based on experiences taking place through October. Packages should be squeezed as little as a single wine box, or as giant as a full barrel; call ahead to verify that schedules are available. CROSSROADS FARM AT GROSSMAN’S

Approximately the length of a community block, this non-profit suburban pasture grows some of its own products, such as beetroot, carrots and flowers, but also sells vegetables and completion grown elsewhere on Long Island (can be seen through the label: yellow born on-site, green is introduced). There is a beautiful flower lawn on the back with a picnic table, and everyone is invited to sit and eat. Watch live music on a Friday until 7 p. m. and a farmers market held Saturday through Halloween (October 31).

This agricultural sanctuary sits deep in the winding local roads full of mansions. You’ll see tractors running with what’s left to harvest in their open fields and rows when you arrive. Park and enter a small shaded hut where the herbs, culmination and vegetables are located. Sold.
