The sport media empire will have to be KSR in a basement. The original concept of Matt Jones and Rob Gidel, Kentucky Sports Radio, presented in November 2005 as a blog and podcast, the latter recorded in Andrew “Hubby” Jefferson’s Basement. The mission: Provide news from the University of Kentucky, football and recruitment of the maximum ridiculous way possible. Thanks to the evolution of the site and at the birth of the very popular radio program, this mantra has remained essential, until a notification of the application of Ryan Lemond laughs and images of Kentucky enthusiasts throwing 3 glasses to everyone.
In the early years, KSR basically the minds of school friends who enjoyed cats and, in turn, the blog evolved an original worship follow -up. . In 2007, the hiring of Patrick Patterson and Jai Lucas took the site to another level, with a new audience aboard daily updates. “Any news about Patterson or Lucas?” They have become a popular choir throughout the state, and the development of KSR’s popularity helped the site to establish themselves in the world of media.
From there, KSR began to add more writers because we all learned that this was something that was one thing. In 2008, KSR held its first contest “Who Want A Blogger” for writers aspiring. Tyler Thompson was third. Two years later, Tyler joined the site as a component time collaborator, evidence that once his KSR family component never leaves. In August 2009, Drew Franklin arrived on board as a component of a package with John Calipari, John Wall and Demarcus Cousins. The Calipari era has brought a new wave of expansion to KSR as enthusiasts anxiously consume all the content they can about the new and exciting adjustments in Lexington.
KSR the radio show launched in August 2010, furthering the site’s exposure. Traffic on the site doubled in both page views and unique visitors. As a result, KSR added more writers and content, ensuring its foothold as the preeminent destination for Kentucky fans online.
