A high-level meeting will be held tomorrow to finalize security measures at the modi-XI summit

A high-level meeting will be held in Chennai on October 4 to discuss security arrangements in Mamallapuram for an informal bilateral summit between Prime Minister Narendra modi and Chinese President XI Jinping.

Security provisions to be made on the air, sea and road fronts for the summit will be discussed and considered during the meeting, a state government source told The Hindu.

“We will hold a meeting with representatives of the NAVY, coast guard and air force. Security will be enhanced on the water (sea) and air side in and around the summit area, ” the source said.

On Wednesday, chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswamy considered preparations for the summit, which will be held from October 11 to 13 in the coastal city, which is listed as a UN world heritage site.

HE was accompanied by his Deputy O. Panneerselvam, Ministers, chief Secretary K. shanmugam, DGP J.K. Tripathi and other officials.

They visited the Five Rata, Arjuna in repentance and on the banks of the temple and reviewed the arrangements in these places, which are already under a heavy blanket of security.
